PCCA joins Mission First Housing Group: Letter from Mission First's CEO
Dear Friends,

I am proud to announce that Philadelphia Council for Community Advancement (PCCA) is the newest member of Mission First Housing Group, a family of nonprofits dedicated to ensuring everyone has an affordable, safe and sustainable place to call home.

PCCA’s long-time Executive Director, Jeffrey Cruse, worked closely with Mission First during the planning and development stages of the alliance, and is confident that Mission First’s financial stability will allow PCCA to continue and expand their housing counseling work. He remarked, “This is a win-win for the community. Joining with Mission First, an organization known for strong organizational capacity and high quality housing and services, will improve outcomes for households struggling with the critical issues of housing insecurity. This will allow PCCA to continue serving Philadelphians for another 55 years.”

The alliance between PCCA and Mission First coincides with Mr. Cruse’s retirement from PCCA to pursue his passion for affordable housing development with the Maple Corporation. On behalf of the Board and staff of Mission First and PCCA, I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

PCCA has operated in the Philadelphia region for 55 years, and their strategic alliance with Mission First will preserve the essential community resources they provide for hundreds of home-owners, renters, individuals and families each year. PCCA is a HUD-approved Housing Counseling agency whose professional housing counseling staff provide services including: Pre-purchase Counseling, Delinquency and Default Counseling, Credit Repair Advice, Foreclosure Mitigation Services and Financial Literacy Workshops. To date PCCA’s highly qualified and experienced housing counselors have assisted more than 80,000 families and individuals.

The alliance between PCCA and Mission First further strengthens Mission First’s commitment to disenfranchised residents of West Philadelphia communities. Mission First member ACHIEVEability is a service organization focused on breaking the generational cycle of poverty for low income, single parent, and homeless families with strong community ties in the Haddington and Cobb’s Creek neighborhoods of West Philadelphia. PCCA’s array of services and location on Master Street in the Carroll Park neighborhood of West Philadelphia will further strengthen the great programing and resources offered by Mission First in West Philadelphia. As part of Mission First, PCCA will also have office and meeting space at our Center City offices.

We look forward to working with you to continue PCCA’s important work in the Philadelphia area.
